I am a driven and enthusiastic person who is dedicated to the development of student learning and wellbeing. During my teaching placements I differentiated for individual student needs, implemented positive discipline strategies and incorporated wellbeing into schemes. As an artist I understand the importance of the process, not just the outcome, so I continually strive to create an exploratory, innovative and student-centered learning environment, where pupils can question and discover throughout. Questioning is always an integral part of my classroom. I take the approach that this method of assessment for learning should be interwoven and something used to not only further student understanding but also to open doorways of new and often unplanned discovery. My passion for art, particularly drawing, is something I continually bring into the classroom in the hopes that with encouragement students will gain not only the knowledge and practical skills of art but also the ability to continually reflect and develop in whatever they’re doing.
